The husband and wife duo made an appearance at Monash Children”s Hospital in Clayton where they performed Amazing Grace with some of the youngsters and staff.
Grammy Award-winning country music star Keith grabbed his guitar, launching into the famous song while Nicole and the surrounding crowd joined him in singing the lyrics.
Keith and Nicole, who are parents to daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret as well as Nicole”s adopted children Connor and Isabella, then spent time talking with some of the kids and posing for photos.
“It”s one of the most important things I do,” Nicole told Melbourne newspaper the Herald Sun. “I have been doing it since I became well known in the movie industry.”
Nicole and Keith, both 46, were in the state of Victoria”s capital city for the Swisse Celebrate Life Ball, a lavish fundraising event hosted by the Celebrate Life Foundation.
“It’s deeply sad,” said Nicole of the illness suffered by those helped by the charity. “But events like the Swisse Celebrate Life Ball ensure that we are able to give to families in need. Even if it is just listening and hugging and showing support, then it”s worth it.”
Following her appearance at the ball, Nicole flew straight to Shanghai by private jet for the Shanghai Film Festival.
