The Civil Wars' Self-Titled Album Tops Billboard 200 Chart

After weeks of reigning the top spot, Robin Thicke”s Blurred Lines has been bumped from the number one spot on Billboards album chart this week.

So just who took over the coveted title That would be, The Civil Wars and their new self-titled album which has sold an impressive 116,000 copies.

This is the first-ever number one album from Joy Williams and John Paul White, as their previous chart high was in 2012 when their album Barton Hollow which sold 36,000 copies after they performed on the Grammy awards.

As for now, Thicke fell to number three spot, while the new Now 47 compilation album debuted at number two.

The Civil Wars have been on hiatus since last November, citing “internal discord and irreconcilable differences of ambition.” The act isnt performing shows to promote the new album at this time, but Williams has been giving interviews to the press. White, however, has not.
