Amongst all the achievements David Beckham has put together over the years, It was up there as one of the greatest.
With his friends and family cheering him on from the sidelines, the footballer triumphed in his final match for LA Galaxy.
Thirty-six-year-old Becks set up the goal that won the game, securing the MLS cup for his team.
Brooklyn, twelve, Romeo, nine, Cruz, six , and baby Harper, who is just four months old, had accompanied mum Victoria to watch their father’s perfect farewell.
And the boys looked delighted as they joined their dad on the field to celebrate the victory.
Their grandparents also accompanied the happy family to watch their son sign off, as well as celebrity pals Eva Longoria – who is becoming a regular at David”s football matches – and boyfriend Eduardo Cruz.
It will probably be the former England captain”s last game in America, as speculation has intensified over whether he will take up an offer to join top French club Paris Saint-Germain.
“I know that I’m not ready to finish yet,” David recently said when asked about the possibility of retirement from the game.
A source close to the Beckhams told ! magazine that the couple will be doing a lot of soulsearching over the coming weeks.
“It’s a very difficult decision for them,” the friend said. “There have been a lot of sleepless nights and tears after the discussions, as there is no clearcut solution at the moment.”
Finding a compromise that works for the clan as a whole is top priority.
“Paris Saint- Germain are a prestigious side and David would love to play at that level again, but his family have a great life in LA,” said the source.
“There’s a lot to consider – this is probably the last year of David’s career, but Victoria has to do a lot of business in the States,” referring to her career as a fashion designer.
The couple, who will return to their Hertfordshire home for Christmas, are due to announce the decision before the new year.
