Tea for two: Pregnant Kate Middleton to attend the Queen
Pregnant Kate Middleton will join the Queen and other members of the royal family for the annual summer garden party on Wednesday afternoon.

The Duchess of Cambridge, who is seven months pregnant, will attend the highly-anticipated Buckingham Palace event alongside her father-in-law Prince Charles, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Philip.

All eyes will be on expectant Kate and her baby bump, and she will no doubt prove a big hit with her fellow guests who will likely gather around eagerly waiting for their chance to talk to her.

Her outfit will also be of great interest; as a royal style icon, Kate has continued to set trends with her maternity wear. The “Kate-effect” saw the polka dot Topshop dress she recently wore to the Warner Bros studios quickly sell out. And it has extended far beyond fashion; moses baskets and clutch bags have also benefited from her royal seal of approval.

Kate attended her first summer garden party last year, and it is considered a highlight of the Queen”s calendar.

Around 8,000 guests have been invited, including Olympians, Paralympians and officials from London 2012. They will drink more than 270,000 cups of tea and eat 20,000 sandwiches and slices of cake as they mingle with the royals on the plush lawn of Buckingham Palace.
