Though she may be busily preparing for her world tour starting on Wednesday, Taylor Swift took time out to visit a young cancer patient on Saturday (March 9).
At the Omaha Children”s Hospital & Medical Center in Nebraska, the country crooner stopped by the room of 10-year-old Lauren Hacker.
The 23-year-old songstress became aware of the young fan after her parents spread a YouTube video of “You Belong with Me” with changed lyrics about Lauren”s battle with acute myelogenous leukemia.
On the family”s blog, the girl”s father posted about the experience, sharing, “She spent about an hour chatting with Lauren [who] played a song on the electronic piano key board that she got for her birthday. Taylor was very impressed, and shared stories from her childhood as she was getting her start as an entertainer and she told us all about the special stage designs of her new show. Just before she had to leave, Taylor got out a bag of goodies for Lauren and provided autographs on notebooks, photographs and guitar picks It was a great afternoon for everyone and Im sure Lauren will remember it for many years to come.”
