British designer Stella McCartney, 41, was honoured with an OBE at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday.
Dressed in a tailored navy suit accessorised with a vintage veil, the Beatle”s daughter looked elegant as her services to fashion earned her an award from the Queen.
Stella attended the ceremony with her proud – and colour-coordinated – husband Alasdhair Willis by her side. Speaking outside the palace she said: “I feel really proud and really excited and honoured to be here.”
The award comes after a successful year for Sir Paul McCartney”s daughter. In November, Stella was named Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards.
She was also responsible for dressing Team GB at last summer”s London 2012 Olympics in London.
Many of the athletes who donned her uniform were recognised for their sporting efforts. Victoria Pendleton, who won silver with the British cycling team, was also at the palace to receive her CBE.
