Solange Knowles and Jay Z’s altercation footage leak is being investigated by bosses at The Standard Hotel in New York City.
Management at the venue which hosted the pair – who are the sibling and husband of singer Beyoncé Knowles – are eager to find out who shared the video obtained by TMZ, showing the rapper attacked by his sister-in-law. The accommodation claimed in statement they would punish any members of staff who were found responsible for allowing the scenes to go viral on the internet and across the media.
“We are investigating with the utmost urgency the circumstances surrounding the situation and, as is our customary practice, will discipline and prosecute the individuals involved to our fullest capacity,” a representative for The Standard said.
The one-minute recording appeared to show someone – possibly an employee or hired event staff with access to the security area – filming a CCTV screen with their mobile device.
A spokesperson added they were “shocked and disappointed that there was a clear breach of our security system“.

The incident took place on May 5, the night of the annual Met Gala in the Big Apple. Beyoncé, 32, looked stylish in a denim jumpsuit and statement heels, while her spouse chose a casual white T-shirt, jeans and a gold chain. The pair shared loving looks and glances, and at one point Jay Z, real name Shawn Carter, put his hand tenderly on his wife”s leg.
After exiting the Standard Hotel, the two sisters left together in one car, while the rapper left in another vehicle. So far, there has been no comment from representatives of any of the parties involved.
The power couple were pictured courtside in New York shortly after, watching Jay Z’s Brooklyn Nets take on Miami Heat and didn’t seem to be fazed by the prior argument as they put on big smiles.
