Taking the absurd approach to the natural disaster genre, Sharknado debuted on the SyFy Network on Thursday evening (July 11).
Based on the premise that a tornado sucks a bunch of sharks out of the ocean and carries them into Southern California, the original movies cast members Tara Reid and Ian Ziering led the parade of posts on Twitter following the films conclusion.
Reid tweeted, I actually can”t wait for @sharknado it might be even better then snakes on a plane !!! Lol 😉 I hope you will have as much fun as I had, and her costar Ziering added, #Sharknado Hell hath no fury like a pissed Great White Shark that gets sucked out of the ocean and dropped in #90210.
Getting a little silly, BJ Novak penned, I”m afraid that now when we have a real sharknado everyone”s going to treat it like a joke, while Patton Oswalt mused, Holy sh*t, guys. Turn on @CNN. Obama, just now: “We must, as a nation, will our organs to shut down. Sharknado!”
30 Rock star Judah Friedlander chimed in, Thanks for watching #Sharknado with me. I”m going to work on my screenplay for Vaginaconda, and Twilight hunk Jackson Rathbone posted, Watching #sharknado on #syfy Commercial break. Hoping for a movie called #Cowquake Where earthquakes unleash the inner rage of the cows.
