Stepping off the set of her new TNT series “King & Maxwell,” Rebecca Romijn graces the cover of REDBOOK”s August 2013 issue.
While striking a few poses for the gorgeous Ruven Afanador-shot spread, the “X-Men” actress chatted about having no assistance for her twins and how she”s enjoying life in her 40″s.

On life without a nanny:
“We”re each other”s assistants. We pick up each other”s slack. Whoever is less busy helps the busier one: “Can you go pick this up for me” or “Can you book my flight” That”s what real life is. Once you start paying somebody else to do the grunt work, who are you”
On her pregnancy and the impacts it had on her body:
“I wasn”t worriedyou”ve gotta feather that nest! Afterward, I was nursing for six months. When you”re a new mother, your body doesn”t belong to you for a while. You have to check your vanity at the door.”
On turning 40:
“Aging has never been scary to me. I”ve always admired my mom”s linesshe has a beautiful, laughter-filled face. I”ve always thought that was attractive.”
On people still mistakenly call her Rebecca Romijn-Stamo:
“Oh my God, it happened to me last night!”
