Many Americans wake up to his voice on weekdays, but that will no longer occur as radio DJ David “Kidd” Kraddick passed away suddenly on Saturday (July 27).
According to his publicist, the 53-year-old host died at a charity golf event near New Orleans to support his Kidd”s Kids organization.
Syndicated by YEA Networks, the Texas-residing radio mainstay is heard on more than 75 Top 40 and Hot AC radio stations and is also heard by servicemen and women around the world on the American Forces Radio Network.
In a statement, the company shared, “All of us with YEA Networks and the “Kidd Kraddick in the Morning” crew are heartbroken over the loss of our dear friend and leader. Kidd devoted his life to making people smile every morning, and for 21 years his foundation has been dedicated to bringing joy to thousands of chronically and terminally ill children. He died doing what he loved, and his final day was spent selflessly focused on those special children that meant the world to him.” His cause of death is still undetermined.
