Prince William and Duchess Kate are greeted by Belgian king and queen as they arrive in Liège
Prince William and his wife the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton kicked off their week with a visit to Belgium on Monday morning.

William and Kate were greeted in royal style by Belgium”s King Philippe and Queen Mathilde upon their arrival in Liège.

Kate looked stunning in a cream dress to the knee, matching hat with dusty pink detail and clutch bag, and a pair of pearl drop earrings. Prince William, meanwhile, was handsome in a navy suit.

The royal couple are attending World War I commemorations, on what will be one of their last public appearances before taking a month-long summer holiday.

The British royals met with French president Francois Hollande as they attended a ceremony at the Cointe Inter-allied memorial mid-morning.

On arrival at the hill of Cointe, William laid a poppy wreath at the British memorial, away from the main ceremony.

Later in the afternoon, the royal couple will travel to Belgian city Mons, where they be joined by William”s brother Prince Harry as they attend a reception at Mons Town Hall.

The trio will then attend a commemoration event at Saint Symphorien Military Cemetery.
