President Obama has achieved a lot in his life – but that doesn”t mean he still doesn”t have regrets.
“I deeply regret not having learned a musical instrument,” the President told Barbara Walters in an interview for ABC”s 20/20, which will air Friday night. “And I regret not having focused more on Spanish when I was studying it in school. I would love to be able to speak Spanish fluently and play an instrument.”
The President and First Lady sat down with Walters for their annual holiday interview, answering 10 personal questions about themselves.
Mrs. Obama, 47, identified an unwillingness to compromise as a trait she dislike in others, while President Obama, 50, cited laziness and cruelty.
President Obama also feels he”s misperceived as being aloof – or, as he tells it, “Spock-like.”
“People who know me know that I am a softie,” he said. “Stuff can choke me up very easily. The challenge for me is that in this job … [is that] people want you to be very demonstrative in your emotions. And if you”re not sort of showing it in a very theatrical way, then somehow it doesn”t translate.”
According to Mrs. Obama, if she could be reincarnated as one person or thing, she would choose none other than the First Dog, Bo.
“He”s got a great life,” she said of the four-legged family member. “He”s got it good.”
