During a very candid interview, Portia de Rossi chatted about her first outing as a lesbian with her wife Ellen DeGeneres.
On Bravo”s “Inside the Actors Studio” Thursday (November 7), the 40-year-old actress sat down with host James Lipton and her fellow “Arrested Development” cast members to discuss the inner-struggles she faced while preparing to tell the world about her secret.
“I think when I really, truly came out was the Golden Globes when “Arrested Development was nominate [in 2005],” Portia explained. “Ellen and I had been together for a month and I was very, very nervous going to that because I knew that I was going to meet up with her after the show.”
“And that there would be press,” James pitched in.
“And that there was press. And that was the first time we stepped out together as a couple, but for me, it was the first time I stepped out as a gay woman,” Miss de Rossi concluded.
