PETA Encourages Beyonce to Wear

With a slew of #1 hits, a superstar husband, and that adorable Blue Ivy, it”s hard not to like Beyoncé, but a recent business venture has drawn the ire of animal rights activists.

The 31-year-old singer launched a new line of footwear including a sneaker wedge design nicknamed the “King Bey.” The Perfectly Made Kicks (PMK) shoe features animal skins including stingray, ostrich, crocodile, calf, and anaconda.

In a statement to Gossip Cop, a spokesperson for PETA slammed the choice of materials, encouraging the “Crazy in Love” songstress to follow the “green” fashion footsteps of Natalie Portman and Anne Hathaway.

The spokesman begins, “These custom-made kicks come with a high priceand its paid by the various animals who were beaten and skinned alive or cruelly farmed and killed. ” before adding, “We hope that Beyoncé will choose to wear more clothes from her own clothing linewhich features faux furand that one day, shell go completely cruelty-free.”
