Peaches Geldof was in secret talks with the producers of Australia’s Next Top Model for a place on the judging panel at the time of her death.
The 25-year-old was one of a number of candidates shortlisted for a role on the ninth series of the talent show, the Sydney Morning Herald has confirmed.
Peaches Geldof may have landed a role on TV
In an interview conducted earlier this year, but published this week, Peaches said that she was looking forward to moving Down Under with her family on an unnamed TV project.
“I can’t say what it is yet, but I’ll be there for three months,” said the late star. “Of course (my children) will come with me because obviously I wouldn’t leave them for that long.”
Peaches’ involvement with the show followed Charlotte Dawson’s announcement in January that she was leaving Australia’s Next Top Model.
Just one month later, the TV star, a close friend of Russell Crowe, was found dead in her Sydney apartment, having committed suicide after a long and public battle with depression.
Following her tragic death, plans for the ninth series of the show were delayed.

Brian Walsh, director of television at Foxtel, confirmed the discussions with Peaches.
“Peaches was one of a number of names suggested but we took the decision that it was too soon to make any calls,” he said. “The idea was not progressed beyond an initial stage.”
The mum-of-two was found dead in her Kent home on 7 April. A post mortem conducted last week proved inconclusive pending the results of toxicology tests.
Peaches’ body has now been released to her family as they prepare to make funeral arrangements.
Thomas Cohen and late wife Peaches Geldof
Her heartbroken husband Thomas Cohen has so far been unable to return to the family home he shared with Peaches and the couple’s two sons Astala and Phaedra.
“Tom is completely devastated and simply can’t bear the thought of going back to the house,” a source said.
“He and her two sons have been staying at his parents since the tragedy and he doesn’t want to return home — certainly not at the moment anyway.”
