Peaches Geldof inquest reveals findings

Peaches Geldof had been a heroin addict and took the substitute drug methadone for two and a half years before her death an inquest has heard.

Preliminary hearings in May established that the mother of two had taken heroin. Wednesday”s proceedings will seek to find out more about the circumstances of her tragic passing and if she may have taken her own life.

Her father Bob Geldof recently of the “intolerable grief” he still felt over her loss aged just 25. “

“I go into organisation mode and that distracts me. But, like anybody else, these things assault you without warning,” he said.

“You could be talking to someone, you could be walking down the road, and suddenly out of the blue there’s an awareness of her. And you know – I buckle.”

The pop star-turned-philanthropist told the Lorraine programme on ITV that he often had “to duck off into a lane or something and blub for a while”. “I imagine that will be there for a long time.”
