If the invitations are anything to go by, Kim Kardashian“s baby shower will be a no expenses spared extravaganza.
The lucky invitees received a fully functioning music box complete with a twirling ballerina who bears a striking resemblance to reality TV star Kim.
The all singing, all dancing music box also has the baby”s father Kanye West at its heart. Once the box, as shown by TMZ, is opened, a lullaby version of the rapper”s Hey Mama track plays.
The inside of the box featured a message from the mum-to-be”s family warmly inviting guests to the gathering on 2 June. Although the venue has been kept under wraps, it is likely to be taking place outdoors given that the dress code is garden chic.
It is thought that Kim will follow in the footsteps of sister Kourtney who both of her baby showers to celebrate the impending arrival of Mason Dash and Penelope Scotland in the grounds of her mum Kris Jenner and stepfather Bruce Jenner”s Calabasas home.
Hosting the party are Kim”s mum and manager Kris, her two sister Kourtney and Khloe Kardashiana and Shelli Azoff who is the wife of music mogul Irving Azoff.
Beyonce and Black Eyed Peas” Fergie are among the invitees, according to US Magazine.
According to reports in January, Kim, 32, requested that rather than bring gifts, all the guests made donations to charity instead.
The socialite and her rapper boyfriend are said to have banned all invitees from bringing presents for the baby, preferring that they use that money to help a worthwhile cause.
Their generous gesture may well have been inspired by another celebrity couple – Shakira and Gerard Pique.
Shortly before welcoming their baby boy in January, the singer and her footballer love launched an online baby shower via UNICEF in support of some of the world”s most vulnerable babies.
“In lieu of receiving gifts for our baby with a traditional shower we would like to offer support for babies who live in conditions of extreme poverty throughout the world,” the new parents wrote.
Having the baby shower to organise should help Kim take her mind off of any anxiety she has about becoming a first time mum.
She admitted to having a few nerves ahead of her July due date.
“As I’m counting the days until I finally get to be a mother, I’m a bit nervous and anxious but also excited knowing that I learned from the very best” she wrote in a heart-warming blog post for US Mother”s Day.
The mum-to-be praised her 57-year-old mother and manager Kris Jenner, saying she is “a strong and ambitious career woman ” who “still manages to put family first and continues to look out for us every day.”
Now more than seven months pregnant with Kanye West”s baby, Kim described motherhood as “a gift”. Clearly excited about meeting her little one, she said she was “honoured” to follow in her mum”s footsteps and make her proud.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star will no doubt be surrounded by loving support from her famously close-knit family.
The fashion designer praised her big sister Kourtney in the touching blog post saying she is “the most incredible mum” to Mason, 4, and 10-month-old Penelope.
“She is super woman with her ability to effortlessly balance work with taking care of two amazing kids,” she continued. “I am so lucky to have her as my guide and confidant as I too become a mother.”
