Mother"s Day: Celebrity mums celebrating for the first time

Kate Middleton had the world enthralled waiting for the birth of Prince George last summer.

But plenty of other stars have also become parents for the first time in the last year, and as Mother’s Day is fast approaching ! Online has compiled a gallery of some of our favourite mums who will be celebrating for the first time in 2014.

The Duchess of Cambridge was joined in motherhood just a few weeks after she gave birth in July 2013 by Lord Frederick Windsor’s wife Sophie Winkleman, who gave birth in Los Angeles. In 2014 Duke of Cambridge, Prince William’s cousin Zara Phillips became a part of the parenting club.

Zara spoke exclusively to ! telling the magazine: “As Friday’s child, Mia’s supposed to be loving and giving. She’s pretty relaxed and happy so far. She’s cool, but then perhaps all parents say that.”

Two of ! Online’s very own bloggers also became mothers for the first time.

Giovanna Fletcher and husband Tom Fletcher welcomed baby boy Buzz Michelangelo into the world just last month, and TV presenter Laura Hamilton and her husband introduced baby Rocco late in 2013.

Tamara Ecclestone became a mother for the first time last week, announcing on Twitter the birth of daughter Sophia, and Katie Piper has spoken of her joy after giving birth to her first child just in time for Mother’s Day.

She revealed in an exclusive interview and photoshoot with ! magazine, how the arrival of the little girl has changed their lives.

“To have had my own life saved in hospital and then to be there giving life to this precious little person, I thought, ‘This is why, this is what it’s all about’, said Katie, before adding: “I already felt grateful that, after the attack, I’d managed to restore a life, have a job, friends, a social life, and I thought, ‘You can’t expect to have everything, this is enough’.
