Don’t worry, this bear wasn’t injured during the taking of this photograph. He simply wandered into a neighborhood near the University of Colorado, and, after officials successfully tranquilized him, fell from a tree onto mats from a nearby recreation center placed to cushion his fall. That’s when a student photographer from the CU Independent got the shot of a lifetime. A police spokesman says the animal “is now in a cage” and “will be relocated at a higher elevation.”
