Kanye West has proposed to Kim Kardashian just days after she gave birth to their baby daughter.
The new parents are planning a wedding in Paris this September, according to The Sun. Kim”s divorce from estranged basketball player husband Kris Humphries was finalised at the beginning of June.
Although rapper Kanye has not yet presented reality TV star Kim with an engagement ring, he has treated her to a £500,000 black and tiger-stripe diamond band.
The 36-year-old dad gave her the “push present” – an increasingly popular concept in the US – to mark the occasion of the birth of their daughter North.
Baby North – who has reportedly been given the nickname Nori – was taken home from the Cedars Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills, California four days after being born. The new family are currently in a secret location.
Mother and baby normally stay in the hospital two days after giving birth, but Kim”s stay was extended to four days due to complications with her pregnancy – she went into premature labour in about the 37th week of her pregnancy.
She had a natural birth and delivered on Saturday, and it has since been reported that the early delivery could have been triggered from pre-eclampsia, a medical condition marked by high blood pressure.
Kim”s blood pressure was said to be “skyrocketing” with “the baby in distress,” according to US Weekly. Despite having left the medical facility, she will no doubt be resting and taking extra precautions over the next couple of weeks, as advised by her doctor.
“For the next two weeks, Kim wants Kanye around 24/7,” a source told the magazine. “Kim is a bit freaked out, but the baby”s breathing is fine.”
To add to her medical worries, Kim is said to be having trouble breastfeeding.
“She has been telling friends that it is really hard, so we don”t know how much longer she”s really going to do it,” a family source said.
During her pregnancy, Kim has suffered various medical conditions and health scares. The swelling could have been a symptom of pre-eclampsia, and Kim herself complained about her swollen feet and ankles.
She wisely ditched her high heels on several occasions and walked around in flip flops, and sought medical advice when her condition worsened.
