Natalie Portman Announces Directorial Debut

Her on-camera presence is undeniable, and now Natalie Portman will seek to prove herself as a director in her very first feature film.

The Garden State gal requested a grant from the Jerusalem Film Fund to adapt Amos Ozs A Tale of Love and Darkness, and shell star, write, and direct the project herself.

According to a report, The story is set in the 1940s and revolves around the authors mothers mental illness and his fathers attempts to help her.

Thus far, Natalie has directed a few short film gigs and also helmed one of the segments for New York, I Love You. Production for A Tale of Love and Darkness will begin in January.
