Former Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton has thanked fans for their well wishes after she gave birth to baby boy on Friday.
The 34-year-old reportedly delivered her son via caesarean section, providing a baby sibling for her and husband Hugh Hanley’s one-year-old daughter Faith.
Hugh, National Personal Training Manager at Virgin Active UK, was first to share the news they were proud parents by posting on his Twitter page.
“Our little man arrived this morning at 8.49am my beautiful wife @wonderwomanshel was amazing, I’m so proud of her. Both are doing great,” the excited father wrote.
Michelle then followed up by retweeting the message and adding some words of her own to followers eagerly awaiting her labour.
The previous day she admitted to more than 200,000 fans that she was “just bored of waiting” for her bundle of joy.
Michelle kept fit during her pregnancy by taking part in Zumba workouts to help promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month last September.
When she announced the news, the star – who found fame on talent show Popstars – also revealed that she planned to remove her ovaries as she was at risk of developing ovarian cancer.
In November 2012, she had both breasts removed but said that she would wait for another baby before having surgery on her ovaries.
Michelle announced the exciting news of her subsequent pregnancy in August 2013.
“..Yup, myself and @hughhanley are thrilled we are expecting a mini Michelle or Hugh,” tweeted Michelle. “This is a very exciting time for us after everything that’s happened… Thank you as always for your love & support! Whoop whoop! Xxxx.”
Michelle and Hugh wed in the Bahamas in July 2010 after dating for two years.
Her pal The Saturdays star Una Foden shared her on Twitter, writing: “Congratulations to @wonderwomanshel and @hughhanley onthe birth of their baby boy, we can’t wait to meet him! X.”
