Michael Douglas's Son Cameron Loses Sentence Appeal

Having a famous father failed to help Cameron Douglas in his legal woes, as his prison sentence was upheld by the federal appellate court on Monday (April 15).

The 34-year-old was originally sentenced to five years in April 2010 for heroin possession and conspiracy to distribute narcotics.

However, in 2011, the troubled son of Michael Douglas was caught with drugs in prison and lied about how he came about the banned substance, prolonging his release date until 2018.

Ruling en banc, the three-judge panel concluded that the sentence was reasonable, saying the defendant “has shown himself to be a poor candidate for treatment or leniency.”
