Ready to take part in a special evening, Madonna will be on hand to present Anderson Cooper with an award at the GLAAD Media Awards later this month.
The Material Girl and the television host are longtime friends, so it is only fitting that she dole out the Vito Russo Award at the event, which celebrates openly gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender media professionals who have made a difference in promoting equality.
GLAAD President Herndon Graddick said in a statement released on Saturday (March 2), “Madonna has been a passionate spokesperson and longtime supporter of gay rights. She has embraced LGBT people around the world on many occasions. From speaking out against bullying to raising support for marriage equality, Madonna has always been one of our community”s strongest allies. We are honored to have her stand with GLAAD and Anderson Cooper.”
The 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards will be hosted by Good Morning America anchors Lara Spencer, Josh Elliott, and Sam Champion, and will take place on Saturday, March 16 at the New York Marriot Marquis.
