Lea Michele made her first step into the public eye since the tragic death of her beloved boyfriend and co-star Cory Montieth, on Sunday.
A sombre-looking Lea looks to be keeping Cory close to her heart, as she was spotted wearing a silver necklace that bears his name spelled out in silver. She had previously been seen wearing the necklace before her boyfriend’s death.
Travelling in the passenger seat of a car alongside her friend in Los Angeles, the Glee star wore dark sunglasses with her dark hair scraped back.
Lea, 26, spoke out about Cory’s sudden death on the same day. Taking to Twitter, she reached out to her fans to thank them for their support.
“Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support. Cory will forever be in my heart.”
The actress accompanied the heart-warming message with a photo of herself and her late beau Cory in each other’s arms with beaming smiles. The pair look carefree in the sunny seaside shot which is from Lea’s personal album.
Lea has not been seen publicly since the tragic death of her partner of two years following an alcohol and heroin overdose in a Vancouver hotel room.
Last Thursday, the grieving actress found solace with her Glee co-stars and the show’s creator, Ryan Murphy, with an emotional memorial service for Cory, in which they ‘celebrated’ his life.
“Today, Ryan Murphy and Lea Michele gathered the cast, crew and producers of Glee, along with colleagues from the network and studio, to share memories and music in an emotional celebration of the life of Cory Monteith,” read a statement from a producer at 20th Century Fox Television last week.
It was recently revealed that Lea was with friends when she found out the news that her boyfriend had died. The actress was enjoying a night with her girlfriends in LA when she heard that Cory had been found dead at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel.
Lea was said to have been discussing marriage with the Calgary-born actor and the couple were reportedly planning on moving in together.
