It’s been less that six months since Kylie Minogue split from Andres Velencoso after a five year relationship. And she’s still coming to terms with her heartache.
“I could be, yeah. I could be for sure,” The Voice star, 45, told Attitude magazine when asked if she was still processing the breakup. “It’s not that long ago. I’m past the crying every night stage…
“Thankfully Andres and I are still in touch,” Kylie added. “Obviously, not like we used to be… He’s a great guy and that’s important… I’m enjoying that I’m so distracted. I’m not sitting at home pining.”
Despite a number of high-profile and meaningful relationships, the singer has never tied the knot. And she said she thought the process would would have only complicated matters further.
“I think legalities can make it a little bit more of a headache, but you know there’s still heartbreak and emotional sadness and all of the things that come with bad break-ups, even if you’re not married,” she said.
“It does hurt, but I guess you have resilience because it’s not the first time you’ve been down that road.”
Kylie split from Andres, changed her management team and signed up to be a judge on The Voice — her first foray into the world of live TV talent shows — all in the same year, and she recently admitted the changes in her life were the result of an “epiphany”.
Explaining her need for a fresh start, she said, “I had a true epiphany. I have only had this one and I remember it as if it were slow motion.
“I guess there were thoughts and moments building up to this but I had a vision and the vision was a horizon with nothing on it.
“Our lives never have nothing on the horizon. There’s always something you are looking forward to, or dreading, but there was nothing there. I felt very calm and I knew in that moment that I needed a new landscape.”
