Kim Kardashian’s divorce from Kris Humphries has just gotten more complicated… for Kimmy K. Recent reports of Kris no longer playing games has been proven in new court filings by his lawyers.
The latest judicial mudslinging tactic employed by Humphries’ team was to demand full disclosure of all money earned during their ill-fated 72-day marriage. Worse than that is Humphries’ lawyers “challenging Kim’s right to give away money that represents what they made in wedding gifts.” Apparently, Kardashian had kept some of their wedding gifts while donating twice the gift’s value to charity.
In the legal documents, Humphries’ lawyers wrote, “A husband and wife are subject to the general rules governing fiduciary relationships which control the actions of persons occupying confidential relations to each other. This confidential relationship imposes a duty of the highest good faith and fair dealing on each spouse, and neither will take unfair advantage of each other.”
The document also states, “A spouse may not make a gift of community personal property, or dispose of community personal property for less than fair and reasonable value, without the written consent of the other spouse.”
Now, the ball is in Kim Kardashian’s court. Whether she slings mud back at Kris Humphries or decides to extend an olive branch will really dictate how the rest of Kardashian’s year goes. Fortunately, the reality star has amazing and experienced lawyers by her side if she is confused about her next move.
