Johnny Depp Drops Out of Film After Salary Cut

He”s one of Hollywood”s most recognized actors, so it comes as no surprise that Johnny Depp is stingy when it comes to choosing his next role.

Sources told The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday (May 30) that the “Dark Shadows” actor parted from Barry Levinson”s upcoming flick “Black Mass” after rejecting their salary offer.

The production was set to pay him $20 million, but due to low sales at this year”s Cannes Film Festival, the budget was cut down to $65 million dollars. In turn, the crew asked Johnny is he would accept $10 million for the role.

Unfortunately, Johnny”s reps at UTA refused the offer and backed out of the project. UTA has no comment on the matter at this time.

Meanwhile, Johnny is wrapping up his latest sci-fi project “Transcendence” and preparing for the premiere of his upcoming film “The Long Ranger” slated to hit theaters July 3rd.
