John Mayer Performs "Queen of California" In Studio

Prior to being silenced by the return of a throat granuloma, John Mayer recorded an acoustic performance of “Queen of California” – and us.com has a sneak peek.

The studio version of the song is the second single off of Born and Raised, the musician”s chart-topping fifth album.

“Being able to have a hopeful vibe about something again it”s actually about getting over stuff,” Mayer, 34, recently told NPR of the song. “Which is why I think it”s the first track on the record. It”s a very relieving breath of fresh air.”

A video for the tune was shot in Los Angeles last weekend and will premiere in July.
