Jennifer Hudson Leaves Courtroom to Avoid Seeing Bloody Photos

Jennifer Hudson stepped out of a Chicago courtroom again Wednesday as another witness displayed grisly photos of one of her murdered relatives.

Her fiancé, David Ortuga, stayed behind and took extensive notes as a retired chief medical examiner identified pictures showing the gunshot wounds to the head of Hudson”s 7-year-old nephew Julian King.

Julian, the son of Hudson”s sister Julia, was found dead in an SUV three days after police discovered the bodies of Hudson”s mother and brother in a South Side house in 2008.

Hudson”s former brother-in-law William Balfour, who once was married to Julia, is on trial for the murders. Prosecutors allege he killed them in a jealous rage over what he thought was another man in Julia”s life and after she vowed to divorce him.

Julia has been at her sister”s side during the trial. A day earlier, both Jennifer and Julia Hudson had also excused themselves to avoid being present when jurors we”re shown bloody images of their mother, Darnell Donerson, 57, and brother Jason King, 29.

As the images of Julian were shown and discussed, a defense attorney handed a tissue to Balfour, who appeared to dab at his eyes. Julian King was Julia”s son from a prior relationship that preceded her tumultuous 2006 marriage to Balfour.

When that testimony concluded, Jennifer and Julia returned to the courtroom, with Julia sporting a heart-shaped charm on a chain necklace with a photo of Julian.
