Finding themselves victims of a serious invasion of privacy, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian, and a host of other big names had financial information hacked and released on the Internet.
According to TMZ, one website posted social security numbers, mortgage amounts, credit card info, car loans, banking, and other data about celebs and political players including, Paris Hilton, Mel Gibson, Ashton Kutcher, Joe Biden, Robert Mueller, Hillary Clinton, Eric Holder, and LAPD Chief Charlie Beck.
In addition to the Los Angeles Police Department, the FBI is also reportedly investigating the case.
The consequences of the disclosure could be severe for the responsible hacker. Back in December, Christopher Chaney plead guilty to nine felony counts after disclosing the personal online accounts of celebrities including Scarlett Johansson, Christina Aguilera, Vanessa Hudgens, and Mila Kunis. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
