If you weren”t able to catch Jay Z”s six hour performance of the same song at the Pace Gallery in New York City earlier this month, you”re in luck. HBO will air a special entitled, “Picasso Baby: A Performance Art Film” that details the stunt.
Speaking about the project, the father of Blue Ivy explains, “Rap is thinking out loud, and youre putting your fears and your vulnerabilities and your insecurities to music. Concerts are pretty much performance art, and a smaller venue is a bit more intimate, so you feel the energy of the people.”
Promising an unprecedented performance experience, the preview teases individual audience interaction with a couple of famous faces including Judd Apatow and Alan Cumming.
Check out the video below, and catch “Picasso Baby: A Performance Art Film” on Friday, August 2nd at 11:00pm on HBO.
