Back in the day, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford were the ultimate blockbuster trio in the original Star Wars trilogy. And George Lucas has let slip that a reunion is in the works.
The LucasFilm honcho told press that all three stars are slated to appear in the forthcoming Star Wars VII flick, under the direction of J.J. Abrams.
Lucas noted, “We had already signed Mark and Carrie [Fisher] and Harrison [Ford] — or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation. So I called them to say, “Look, this is what”s going on.””
Thinking that perhaps the folks over at Disney may be upset by his leak, George backtracked, “Maybe I”m not supposed to say that. I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them. I won”t say whether the negotiations were successful or not.”
