"G.I. Joe: Retaliation" Expected to Earn Over $40 Million in Domestic Debut

Pulling in respectable numbers for a Wednesday, “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” earned $2.2 million for its nighttime release.

Predictions put the action sequel in the $40-$45 million four day domestic debut range with hopeful Paramount studio believing it could hit $50 million.

Globally, numbers are expected to hit the $100 million range for its opening in 75% of international markets.

Competing with the film this weekend are “Tyler Perry”s Temptation” and “The Host.” Directed by Jon M. Chu, “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” stars Dwayne Johnson, Adrianne Palicki, Channing Tatum, and Bruce Willis.
