Sinead O”Connor has married her fourth husband in a “drive-thru wedding” in Las Vegas on her 45th birthday.
The Nothing Compares 2 U singer spoke to The Irish Independent at Dublin Airport just before jetting off to tie the knot.
She met the groom – 38-year-old therapist Barry Herridge – three months ago on-line.
Sinead said: “Myself and Barry decided to get married in Las Vegas because we wanted a proper rock “n” roll wedding.
“I”ve been married before, but I”ve never had my dream wedding in Vegas.
“I wanted to do it there because it”s casual, quick, not religious and, most of all, very romantic.”
The mother-of-four described her excitement on receiving Barry”s initial email.
“It just took my heart away. It had to be him.”
The singer has been married three times before.
Her first marriage was to music producer John Reynolds, who co-produced several of her albums. She then went on to marry journalist Nicholas Sommerlad, and thirdly musician Steve Cooney.
Sinead posted a picture on her blog of herself and Barry at the airport.
She also promised to update fans with pictures of her “absolute dream wedding ceremony” and declared herself a “very happy girl”.
