Famous Chicago Chef Charlie Trotter Dead at 54

Legendary Chicago chef Charlie Trotter passed away at the age of 54 on Tuesday (November 5).

The Chicago fire department shared the news with NBC, after the chef was transported to Northwestern Hospital. He was reportedly found unresponsive in his North Side home and taken into critical condition before being pronounced dead.

According to close family friend Carrie Nahabedian, Charlies wife Rochelle simply told her, My babys gone.

Trotter owned one of the most famous restaurants in the world, located in Chicagos Lincoln Park, and several of the countrys top chefs worked under him including Graham Elliot, Homaro Cantu and Grant Achatz.
