Eurovision is back. This week, the annual song contest returns for its 58th year promising a night full of catchy pop, outrageous costumes and some truly bizarre performances.
The UK has had a tough time in the competition recently, infamously failing to gain a single vote from another country in 2003 with Jemini”s Cry Baby. This time around, the country is pinning its hopes on Bonnie Tyler, who follows in the footsteps of previous UK contestants Englebert Humperdinck, Cliff Richard, Gina G, Blue and Bucks Fizz.
She is up against a wide range of contestants – from the Swiss Salvation Army band Takasa to a “Belgian Justin Bieber”.
In celebration of this most eclectic music competition, ! Online takes a look back at some of the most memorable Eurovision contestants.
