“They will remain friends and are focusing on their little boy.”
The pair are both expected to remain with the long-running hit show.
Last month, Charley, 25, told The Mirror that she was looking to concentrate on work before growing her family.
“My partner Matthew and I would like more children, but at the moment I’m focusing on work,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Emmerdale actor said that the couple, who got engaged in 2009, wanted another baby to join their son.
“We definitely want to start planning for another, so that might end up coming first, before a wedding,” he told new! magazine. “It’d be great to have children involved in the day – I could see Buster running riot!”
Matthew took to Twitter on Wednesday to thank fans for their support: “Thank you so much for all your lovely messages. Unfortunately these things happen, and it’s very sad. Buster is our main priority always. X”
The 33-year-old won reality show Dancing on Ice in 2012, beating Hollyoaks actress Jorgie Porter and X Factor‘s Chico in the final.
Charley’s brother, Jamie Lomas, is married to Coronation Street star Kym Marsh and recently signed up to appear in EastEnders.
