Eminem??s Detroit Childhood Home Damaged in Fire

The Detroit home that inspired many of Eminem”s hits was damaged in a tragic fire on Thursday (November 7), days after it was purchased to be turned into a museum.

According to reports, the Detroit fire department responded to the blaze at the home located south of 8 Mile Road. At this time, a cause for the fire is still unknown.

Before the house located at 19946 Dresden St. was auctioned off, it was owned by Eminems mother.

It was the cover art on his 2000 album The Marshall Mathers LP and makes a comeback on his latest project The Marshall Mathers LP 2, which was released this week.

Ems mother Deborah wrote about the house in her book My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem, and stated, “Marshall loved it so much that he had a model of it made to take on tour with him. Even though we”d moved a lot, he always said the house on Dresden was his childhood home.”
