Demi Lovato Talks "Suicide Contract" in Rolling Stone

Never too shy to share her own personal struggles, Demi Lovato talked about past suicidal thoughts in an interview with Rolling Stone.

Admitting that she”s battled depression from the tender age of 7, when she gained attention on “Barney & Friends,” the “Heart Attack” singer explained, “The principal called my parents and made me sign this suicide contract saying that I would not kill myself. They weren”t expecting that so young.”

Eventually heading to rehab in 2010, the 20-year-old songstress revealed how her parents supported her recovery.

Happy to help others, Demi shared, “My parents were like, “You have two choices. We can either shut it down and not talk about it, or you can tell people what”s up.” There was no hesitation, really. I opened up that gate.”
