David Beckham says he and Victoria try to give their children a normal upbringing
David and Victoria Beckham”s eldest child Brooklyn recently became a teenager. Now, David has spoken about the parenting style he and his wife use to support their son”s independent streak and raise the rest of their brood.

“My eldest now is at the age where he wants to do things and he wants to go places and you have to hold him back, or we have to hold him back,” David said during an interview with CNN World Sport.

“You have to explain it to him that there are certain things that he can”t do.

“But to be honest, with our children, we let them do 99 per cent of the things they want to do because we want them to lead a normal life.”

The football star, who plays with Paris St. Germain while his family remain in London, also said it was difficult being apart from Victoria and their children – Brooklyn, 14 Romeo, ten, Cruz, seven, and Harper, who is two in July.

“When you speak about the sacrifices, that”s obviously the sacrifice that I have to make as a father and as a husband, being away from my family.

“It”s only for a short time but it’s difficult being away from the children every single day. But they understand it, they understand that daddy works hard.”
