Cory Monteith??s Final Film ??McCanick? Dealt With Drug Abuse

The entertainment world is still reeling from the tragic death of Cory Monteith, and it turns out he filmed a move last fall that centered on a character with drug addiction issues.

According to a report, the late Glee actors final project McCannick saw him take on the role of a man who struggled with substance abuse, and Monteith had a well-documented problem with drugs himself.

Director Josh C. Waller told press, He was very vocal about his past, and said he wanted to tap into things from his youth that he hadnt been able to use as an actor yet. He didnt say it was a cathartic experience, but you could sense it.

Waller met Cory last month to view a final cut of the film. He sent me an email later that evening after the screening saying he was so thankful and had a lot of pride in the role. He was nervous and scared but it was that good fear. He said something along the lines of I cant wait to find out the release date so that I can tell the world about it.

Its tricky, because you know theres a group of people that want to see the movie because its his last film but by no means does anybody want to exploit the tragedy. I want people to see the movie, because Cory deserves that. People would ultimately see that he had a lot more to offer artistically, and its a shame that this happened because now he cant explore that.

Theres no word on a release date for McCannick, so stay linked to the GossipCenter for updates.
