Charlotte Church says she will
Charlotte Church has admitted she will have to work for the rest of her life, “not because I want to but because I have to“.

The former child star, worth a reported £25 million at the height of her fame in 2003, said in an interview with BBC Wales that she no longer has a vast fortune, and joked, “The tax man is looking at my accounts wondering where I”m hiding all my money.”

Mum-of-two Charlotte, 28, has sold more than ten million records in her career. But despite seeing her wealth dwindle in recent years, she still feels incredibly blessed.

“My life is so full and so rich I definitely feel like I”ve had the good side of the deal,” said the star, mum to Ruby, six, and five-year-old Dexter from her previous relationship with Gavin Henson.

Charlotte currently lives in a villa in the Vale of Glamorgan with her children and partner Jonathan Powell. She has set up her own record label, Alligator Wine, and released a series of experimental songs, produced from the home studio in her back garden.

She is also planning on studying for a physics degree.

Charlotte also spoke about her finances and future plans during an interview with Stylist magazine in February.

I haven”t got a lot of money,” she said. “I”ve got enough to be comfortable if I was reasonable for the rest of my life, but I”m not reasonable, so I will have to find a way to sustain my lifestyle.

It only recently dawned on me that I don”t have to be a singer,” she added. “…I guess I”m lucky to have a bit of wealth behind me that I can go to university.

“I never want to stop educating myself. And I want my kids to see my career and see that it”s possible to dart from one end of the spectrum to another. I feel like I know my own power and strengths now – if I set my mind to something, I absolutely will achieve that.”
