Just in time for the upcoming release of his latest film, Charlie Sheen will use his birth name in the credits for “Machete Kills” according to a report Saturday (may 25) by US Weekly.
Born Carlos Estevez, the Anger Management actor has never used his given moniker in any film credit, and has been using Charlie since the age of four to avoid confusion with an uncle.
Sheens brother Emilio has always gone by their given surname, while his father Martin, who was born Ramon Antonio Gerardo Estevez, changed his for Hollywood, though it was never legally changed.
As for his heritage as a Latino, the 47-year-old actor admitted during an interview last year on Univision, “I don”t wake up feeling Latino. I”m a white guy in America. I was born in New York and grew up in Malibu.”
