When stars like Holly Willoughby and Fearne Cotton attended the BAFTA TV Awards last year, all eyes were on their gowns and glamour.
This Sunday will see the small screen”s finest gather once again, and BAFTA have produced a collection of stats and infographics to mark the occasion.
Their report lifts the lid on all the glitz, glamour and excess of the event and reveals some fascinating facts behind 2012″s star-studded ceremony.
Holly, Fearne and co collectively quaffed 6,732 glasses of champagne and hair stylists got through 2,000 hair grips at last year”s event alone.
BAFTAs” fun-filled factsheet also reveals that Coronation Street is the most successful soap opera in BAFTA history, having snared 10 awards in total, and that Dame Judi Dench is the most successful recipient of the awards, with 12 nominations and four wins.
This year, actress Sienna Miller is the most recognisable name in the leading actress category. She has been nominated for her role in BBC 2 drama The Girl.
On the soap front, the usual prime time favourites will go head-to-head, with Coronation Street, EastEnders and Emmerdale all looking to win best continuing drama.
