She took the pop music world by storm with her hit “Call Me Maybe,” and now Carly Rae Jepsen scored a feature in the July 2013 issue of NYLON magazine.
While striking a few adorable poses for the David Titlow-shot spread, the “Tonight I”m Getting Over You” hitmaker dished about her life since her big break last summer.

On “Call Me Maybe”s” success:
“When we released [Call Me Maybe] in Canada, it went to No 1 on the iTunes charts. I was just hoping it would make the Top 10!”
On placing third on “Canadian Idol”:
“I was happy to finish third, and really happy to have a recording contract at all. But at the same time, it was difficult not to wonder what else might be out there beyond Canada and what a really successful single might do for my career.”
On life since winning the 2012 American Music Award for Best New Artist:
“Every day since has been a shock and a surprise. And every day I am challenged to define myself. Well there are lots of things to be aware of if you want to keep your sanity and your happiness.”
On her public image:
“I signed up for this career for the music, but being in the public eye has nothing to do with music.”
