She”s gearing up for the Victoria”s Secret Fashion Show and during promotions, Candice Swanepoel garnered herself a little added exposure by covering the December 2013 issue of ELLE UK magazine.
During her interview with the publication, the 25-year-old supermodel dished about her supportive family and discussed the 2009 financial crisis and its effect on the modeling industry.
Check out a few highlights from Miss Swanepoel”s Q&A session below. For more, be sure to visit ELLE UK!
On her family:
“I always had a lot of support from my family, they really motivated me. And when I wanted to quit many times, they were the ones that motivated me to carry on.”
On her modeling career:
“I was lucky that I always worked. And then I became more commercial -I would go to Japan, or do German catalogs. I was never really desperate that I was never going to work.”
On economic woes in the fashion industry:
“When the economy went really bad, lots of girls quit, because clients were just using girls that they knew could deliver, so people who were surviving on a job here and there, weren”t doing those jobs any more. It”s a tough business and you have to stay on it. Tomorrow could be different. We”re all freelance at the end of the day.”
