‘Born to Run’ ultramarathoner found dead in New Mexico

Anyone who Kindled a copy of bestseller “Born to Run” knows it begins with a quest to find the legendary ultramarathoner, Caballo Blanco, the man who inspired countless recreational runners to keep going. Sadly, the body of Blanco — whose real name was Micah True — was discovered on Saturday afternoon after a four-day search. True, an experienced trail runner, had been reported missing on Tuesday when he didn’t return from a 12-mile trail run through New Mexico’s Gila National Forest. “Caballo had the only funeral he would have wanted,” “Born to Run” author Chris McDougall tweeted. “His friends spent days running in the wilderness in his honor.”
