Sir Tony Robinson led tributes to his Blackadder co-star Patsy Byrne, who died on Tuesday at the age of 80.
The actor, who played Baldrick alongside Patsy”s character Nursie in the second series of the British comedy, said she had been like a mother to the younger members of the cast and praised her acting ability.
“She had unerring skill to make the daftest, silliest thing sound absolutely real and absolutely plausible,” he said.
“I remember seeing her in As You Like It and it was one of those parts where the actress usually goes “de dum de dum de dum de dum de dum” but the way she said it was so that each word was a revelation to her and I think that was one of her great comic skills.”
Patsy”s death comes just two weeks after her fellow Blackadder co-star Rik Mayall also passed away.
Kent-born Patsy, who also starred in Kevin & Perry Go Large, Inspector Morse and Les Misérables, died at Denville Hall, a care home for actors in London.
