Barneys New York Issues Apology to Jay Z

He has a massive partnership with Barneys New York slated to kick off for the holidays, but Jay Z has been getting pressure to back out due to the stores racial profiling scandal.

However, head honcho Mark Lee has personally apologized to the 99 Problems rapper for his companys sins, hoping his words will be sufficient atonement to keep the business venture on track.

Lee declared, “We deeply regret that these recent events have distracted from the great work of the [Shawn] Carter Foundation, and we offer our sincere apologies to Mr. Carter.”

Jay Z (real name Shawn Carter) will launch the New York Holiday collection on November 20th, with a portion of the proceeds to go to his Shawn Carter Foundation.

In response to a petition asking him to sever ties with Barneys, Jay previously explained, “If I make snap judgments, no matter who it”s towards, aren”t I committing the same sin as someone who profiles I am no stranger to being profiled and I truly empathize with anyone that has been put in that position. Hopefully this brings forth a dialogue to effect real change.”
